Cross Country set for Linden on Saturday

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Linden will host the first Cross Country of the year when the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) hosts their second event of 2015 on Saturday, February 07.

Some of Guyana’s top distance athletes are expected to be a part of the event that will see the top finishers receiving medals.

The likes of Cleveland Thomas, Dennis Horatio, Carl and Matthew McKenzie as well as Linden’s Cassey George are expected to compete.

The race will start and finish at the Bayrock Football ground on the Wismar shore and will make its way through a number of streets.

The junior female and youth male athletes will have three kilometres to run while the youth females will need to complete a distance of two kilometres.

The male open race will be for six kilometres while the junior males will have four kilometres to run.

The event is opened to all athletes of the various categories with an expected start time set for 14:00hrs.
