Corentyne family detained as police unearth improvised weapon in their home

A Corentyne family has been detained by the police following the discovery of an improvised shotgun in their home on Tuesday night. 
Acting on intelligence, about 23:00hrs ranks went to Kildonan Village, Corentyne, Berbice and conducted a search of a two story house for arms and ammunition when an improvised single barrel shotgun, minus its ammunition, was found hidden in the lower flat.
A 61 year old male, his wife, 51, and their 18 year old son, are assisting with the investigation police in a released statement said.
