Police “B” Division Commander, Ian Amsterdam moments told INews that information was received that one of the four remaining escapees was seen lurking in a backdam in Port Mourant.

Meanwhile, Amsterdam said he is unaware of there being an exchange of gunfire between police and the wanted man.

The identity of the specific fugitive is not yet clear. The four escapees still on the run are; Mark Royden Durant, Uree Varswyck, Stafrei Hopkinson Alexander and Cobena Stephens.

They, along with two others – Desmond James and Cornelius Thomas- had escaped lawful custody on July 9 2017 following a staged attack on correctional officers at the Camp Street Prison. During the attack, the Penitentiary was set alight by the prisoners before they made their escape.

James and Cornelius were already apprehended.
