Two masked bandits, who in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, attempted to rob a Post Office Street, Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) vendor, are now being sought by the Police.
Forty four-year-old, Afeez Yocoob of Belle West Village, Canal Number two (2), said that he was asleep in the tray of his canter at the above mentioned location at around 02:00h when he was awakened by the perpetrators.
One of the men who was armed with a handgun reportedly pounced upon Yocoob and demanded that he hand over his money.
The victim was then dealt a severe lash to his forehead which caused him to sound an alarm.
In doing so, the bandits quickly made good their escape east along the said Post Office Street.
The matter was reported and an investigation is in progress.
