GHPC donation[www.inewsguyana.com] – Copa Airlines staff has continued their efforts to contribute to the upliftment of those in need by sharing with the children of the Paediatric Ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital Cooperation.

Staff donated a basket of various fresh local fruits, spent some quality time with close to 30 children in the ward chatting with them and their parents and gave Easter eggs to each child. One Copa staff member entertained the children, their parents and the nurses by playing live pan music.

Country Sales Manager, Nadine Oudkerk, says that “Easter is a time of great joy and cheer for so many children – with the flying of kites, enjoyment of chocolates and other goodies. We wanted to have the chance to share with the little ones, who unfortunately have to be in the Hospital, that same kind of happiness and delight. Although they have to be here for one reason or another, we believe that today they enjoyed themselves and the activities we planned.

“We would like to thank Mr Michael Khan for affording us the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of the children. We wish them all a full and speedy recovery and good health so that they can re-join their families at home as soon as possible. From Copa Airlines, I wish a very happy Easter to our staff members, business partners, patrons and friends.” Oudkerk added.

Copa Airlines has established itself and believes that all companies must contribute to the communities they serve. In his statement on Corporate Social Responsibility, Copa’s CEO Pedro Heilbron explained “Copa Airlines’ corporate social responsibility is an integral part of our effort to achieve our corporate vision of being the leading airline in Latin American aviation. Sustainable development is not only the responsibility of governments and non-governmental organizations. It is everyone’s task. For this reason, we strive to be responsible in all aspects of our business, channelling our efforts towards our pillars of youth, education, and the environment.”
