[www.inewsguyana.com] – Ruben Companioni of team Coco has placed himself in top position after the first two stages of the ‘Ride for Life’ Five-Stage cycle road race that pedaled off on Thursday, October 16.

Companioni, after finishing second in the first stage, took the first spot in the second stage after crossing the finish line on Carifesta Avenue.

In addition, Companioni along with his team members Carlos Ospina and Camillo Ulloa of Cuba currently hold the top three positions for team Coco.

However, reports are that team Coco will no longer be part of cycle racing in Guyana due to points being shaved from their riders due to infractions being placed on them by the Cycle Federation of Guyana.

iNews Sport was unable to make contact with anyone from the federation on the matter.
