‘Classic’ Beckham discusses physical fitness with Sport Minister

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Jeff ‘Classic’ Beckham, – this year’s guest poser for the Hugh Ross Classic Body Building show this weekend – paid a courtesy call on Minister of Sport, Dr Frank Anthony on Wednesday, March 26.

Accompanied by Event Director Hugh Ross, the IFBB pro Athlete said he is pleased to be in the company of the Minister of Sport. He said that the past two days in Guyana have been enjoyable as he prepares for the Classics set for this weekend at the National Culture Centre.

He expressed his thanks to the Minister for taking the time out to meet him and discussed the importance of physical fitness.

“You guys have natural resources here in terms of fruits and stuff and you should make use of those things,” said the 32 – year – old IFBB Pro Athlete.

Minister Anthony said that he is pleased to have Beckham and other athletes of an international nature grace Guyana with their presence. Saturday’s action will commence with a weight in from 10:00

On competition night, there will be action in the bantamweight- up to 65kgs (143lbs), lightweight- up to 70kgs (144-154lbs), welterweight- up to 75kgs (155-165lbs), light middleweight- up to 80kgs (166-176lbs), heavyweight (176 and over) in action.

The Miss Bodybuilding, Miss Figure and the Miss Bikini contest will also be categories of action in the event which begins at 18:00 at the National Cultural Centre.Tickets cost $1500.
