CJIA employee loses life in Land of Canaan accident

Dead: Nizamudeen Muhammed also known as Dwain
A fatal accident during the wee hours of this morning has claimed the life of a 27-year-old employee of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA). 
Dead is Nizamudeen Muhammed also known as Dwain, of Lot 616 Section ‘A’, Block ‘Y’, Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara. He was reportedly the only child to his parents who reside overseas. 
Based on reports received, the accident occurred at approximately 00:10hrs today on the Land of Canaan Public Road, East Bank Demerara, as Muhammed was returning home from work. 
Police said that Muhammed, who was proceeding north along the western side of the road in motor car PRR 4768 collided with the metal rail of a culvert, causing the vehicle to topple several times, before coming to a halt after it struck a lamp pole, on the said side of the road. 
As a result, Muhammed, the lone occupant of the car was flung out of the vehicle.
The 27-year-old man was then picked up in an unconscious state, and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His vehicle reportedly received extensive damage. The body is at Lyken’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.
When Inews visited his home, neighbors relayed that the young man lived alone. He was described as a fun and loving person. 
“When I wake up this morning, a friend tell me Dwain dead. I didn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it. I can’t believe he is gone,” one neighbour identified as “Alana” said. (Ramona Luthi)
