[www.inewsguyana.com] – The People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) has objected to Christopher Ram, a Chartered Accountant, and former Auditor General, Anand Goolsarran, conducting audits at several State agencies.
The Opposition Party believes that the two men are closely aligned to the APNU+AFC government and as such, have no confidence that their findings will be objective.
During a press conference at Freedom House on Thursday, June 18, former Attorney General and Legal Affairs Minister, Anil Nandlall said, “Look at who they choose to do these audits, two sidekicks of theirs.”
It is no secret that both Ram and Goolsarran have heavily criticized the former PPP government for its alleged mismanagement of the country’s finances, accusing them almost daily of corruption.
The APNU+AFC government, shortly after taking up office, approved audits for over 30 state entities, three of which are the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), the Guyana Gold Board (GCB) and National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL).
“An audit as I understand is an objective forensic analysis of the financial systems and how it works and how monies were spent. I cannot be persuaded that Christopher Ram and Anand Goolsarran can ever bring an objective mind to bear on this process,” Nandlall said.
Nandlall is now requesting that the new government launch a forensic audit of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), where he says the PPP believes there was electoral fraud at the May 11 general and regional elections.
“Do nothing fair nothing”. If there is nothing to find why are the PPP/C so scared. these are two of the best accountants we have with a clear understanding of all that goes on so let them have a look at the books. What I want to hear is that those who are responsible for thieving and corruption will be meet with the full extent of the law.

Mr. Goolsaran was my boss at the office of the Auditor General and i have known him to be a man with integrity, and to me he is the best Auditor i have ever seen in Guyana. I must also say that Mr. Ram is well qualified to do the job this new government asked him to do. So former Attorney General if the PPP/C is honest have no fair. The end justify the means.
Sir, Why must anyone care whether you are persuaded or not? Show us the EVIDENCE that Will convince us that Mr. Ram and Mr. Goolsarran will be unable to perform their tasks / assignment in an unbiased manner. Side-kicks, eh? But, sincere, honest and patriotic men. Good men to befriend, sir. To be your side-kicks too!
. Mr. Ram oozes credibility and independence. And courage. And forthrightness. (No threats of violence from him!) He brings his experience as an attorney and as an auditor with him. You will love him later on, you will see!
Mr. Goolsarran is a former auditor general of this country. He was too professional during the “dolphin” investigation and so, was hounded out of his job by a certain ex- president. He is back with even more qualifications, skills, and courage.
If there is anything to find, uncover, unravel, et cetera, these men will find, uncover and unravel it. They will follow all trails. And unlock any secrets. If there are any. Do nothing, fear nothing.
Afterwards, you will applaud their professionalism. And wish that you had conducted yourself like them during your stint in government. You would have learned something. Peace!

You maybe suprise to find that the election may have been rigged but by who? No one else but the PPP/C. For i can’t figure how the PPP/C government who was so curroupted, and been in government for 23 yrs, had took the state media in full control where no one else had gotten any coverage except nagitive now cries out the election was rigged yet can’t give any evidence to show such. How incompetent and stupid that party is. The Pppc should have been ashamed and imbarrassed to claim such. You people need to get it together and stop with the crap. Oh! And the election, it is going to stay the way it is for there isn’t much Gecom can do at this point. But the court can but i dnt think the PPP/C wants that, even though, they are say such. The AG may want to start setting his attorney’s fees for the long line of PPP defendants that will be answering charges of theft, misappropriation…
Actually if you, the ppp/c, hasn’t done nothing, then, you have nothing to fear. The auditors were open critics of your government and party or any other institutions they observed doing work, of which, they call it as it was. Now, you may have your own auditors to do the same on their findings if you are unsatisfied. Luckily you have a President who is free and fear as the election so not to worry. You all wouldn’t be incorsurated illegally as jagdeo often did when he wanted others to do illegal act. E.g the berbice bridge where he had incorsurated those 3 employees, the CEO and his Staff of the buildings society, for not granting him the massive loan.

What is Nandlall afraid of? What will be discovered based on the objective forensic analysis. Where did the nation monies go is the public right to know, and individuals who are qualified to do the job is what the new government has assigned. The individuals are qualified and should do the job.
