‘Chow Pow’ gets bail for allegedly assaulting daughter

Local comedian Kirk Jardine, popularly known as ‘Chow Pow’, was today released on $50,000 bail after he was charged for allegedly assaulting his 22-year-old daughter.

Jardine, 57, of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weever at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where the charge was read to him and he pleaded not guilty.

The offence in question reportedly occurred on October 27. It was reported that Jardine allegedly slapped and cuffed his daughter about her body.

Though he was released on bail, Jardine was ordered to not contact his daughter and to stay 100 yards away from her.

He is expected to return to court on November 6.

Jardine was represented by Attorney Khemraj Ramjattan.
