The police in ‘D’ Division are investigating a shooting incident during a robbery which occurred at 0100h. on June 27, 2016, committed on Shamiran Tebonie, 36 years, of Dudley Park, Canal No. 1 Polder, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
According to reports, Shamiran Tebonie was awoken by two male suspects both of whom were armed with handguns, and demanded cash and jewellery.Tebonie was shot to his right hand in the process. The suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery that were handed over to them.
The injured man was taken to the WDRH where he was treated and sent away.
Investigations are ongoing.
