Camp Street Prisoner charged with illegal possession of Marijuana

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 34 – year – old Camp Street prisoner was today charged with the illegal possession of marijuana before Magistrate Ann McLennan.

Keith Bailey, a Musician, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on December 09 at Camp Street Prison, Georgetown, he had in his possession 197 grammes of Marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Representing Bailey was Attorney, Paul Fung – A – Fat, who told the Court that the illegal substance was found on the ground and the police are now claiming that it belongs to his client.

The matter was transferred before Magistrate Fabayo Azore for January 09, 2015. The Court heard that Bailey was convicted of a previous offence in 2012.
