Buxton house goes up in flames

[www.inewsguyana.com] – An early morning fire at lot 115 Brush Dam Buxton, East Coast Demerara has left Dennis Major homeless on Monday October 14.

The elderly man told reporters that he has been living in the two – storey house for approximately 20 years now.

Major said that he was awoken by the heat from the blaze around 4:00h and immediately ran outside. According to the now homeless man, he has suffered almost $10 million in losses and that the house was insured.

Unfortunately, he defaulted in payment this year. Firefighters are on the scene. It is not yet clear how the fire started.
