[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Georgetown Businessman is believed to have shot himself dead after first killing his wife whom he had been married to for over eight years in the wee hours of Saturday morning (November 23).

Dead are Moses Looknauth and Nadia Looknauth  who resided above their Auto Sales/Car Wash Business on Garnette Street and Delph Avenue, Georgetown.

The couple, who are both in their 40’s was discovered around 04:30 hrs by relatives of the Businessman, who claimed he telephoned moments before committing to act to say “he would not be around any longer.”

Neighbours, employees and relatives of the couple all stood in shock and disbelief at the scene.  No one could recall ever seeing the two arguing or fighting; they all said he was friendly and generous and could not give any reasons why he/she would commit such an act.

According to the Guard on duty at the time of the incident, the Businessman called him about 03:00hrs and gave him a key and told him to give the key to his son when he arrives. The man said when the younger Looknauth arrived around 04:30 he handed over the keys. He said moments later he heard screams emanating from the building and later heard that the man had shot his wife and himself dead.
