Businessman jailed for Trafficking Marijuana

 

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 59 – year – old Businessman of Roxanne Burnham Garden, Georgetown was today sentenced to 48 months imprisonment by Magistrate Ann McLennan on a narcotics charge.

Lloyd Allen was found guilty of the offence, which stated that on June 30 last, at his residence, he had in his possession 470 grammes of Marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The Court heard that on the day in question at around 15:00 hrs, acting on information, ranks conducted a search at Allen’s home where the prohibited substance was found.

Allen was represented by Attorney – at – Law, Euclin Gomes throughout his trial.

He was fined $705,000 by Magistrate McLennan along with the custodial sentence.
