BUDGET 2026: Income Tax Threshold to increase to $140,000

The income tax threshold will be increased to $140,000 per month, Minister of Finance Dr Ashni Singh has announced.

This measure is provided for in Budget 2026.

In 2025, the income tax threshold had been increased to $130,000, resulting in $18 billion in disposable income to workers and the removal of 60,000 persons from the tax net.

According to Dr Singh, the new income tax threshold will remove 5,000 persons from the tax net and add over $2 billion in disposable income to workers.
