iNews has confirmed that the teacher, identified as Shondell Duke and her students of Augsburg Primary School were returning from Mashramani activities when tragedy struck.

Regional Chairman, Bindrabhan Bisnauth told iNews that it is unclear how the accident occurred since the now dead teacher was driving and the Burma Branch Road is not a heavily trafficked area. He explained that the possibility exists that the students and teacher were left there for a quite some time before any assistance was rendered.
