RAJKOT, India (CMC) — West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo had no impact as his Gujarat Lions lost their first game of the Indian Premier League with a heavy 10-wicket defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad here yesterday.

Playing at the SCA Stadium, Lions tallied 135 for eight and Sunrisers chased down the total with over five overs to spare, with Australian opener David Warner slamming an unbeaten 74 and Shikhar Dhawan getting 53 not out.

Despite the defeat, Lions are tied on six points in the standings with Kolkata Knight Riders, but lie second because of an inferior net run rate. Sunrisers, meanwhile, are fourth on four points.

Sent in, Lions were propelled by Captain Suresh Raina who hammered 75 off 51 deliveries batting at number three.

However, only two other players made it into double figures, but neither passed 20.

Bravo, batting at number five, spent 12 deliveries over eight before holing out on the square leg boundary off left-arm seamer Barinder Sran.

The Trinidadian right-armer also failed to make any impact with the ball, sending down three overs for 26 runs, as Sunrisers coasted to their target in the 15th over.
