The Post Mortem results on the body of a man who was found dead on a bridge in front of his home in Lusignan, East Coast Demerara on Monday has revealed that the cause of death was due to a fractured skull.

The results explained that the injury is consistent with that which could be received from a fall.

This is according to Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum, who told Inews that the examination on the dead man’s body was conducted on Wednesday.

On Monday afternoon, the lifeless body of a 53-year-old Ramesh Narine was found in front of his house in Lusignan, East Coast Demerara.

Based on reports received, the man, along with two other friends, was seen imbibing at another home in the village. No one was able to verify whether an argument of any kind ensued between the trio.

Shortly after, Narine’s dead body was found with a swollen face and an injury to the back of his head. The police were summoned, and their investigations led to the detainment of the man’s two friends.

Inews understands that the men were questioned and subsequently released from custody.

Relatives of the dead man said that he is a known alcoholic that would do odd jobs around the community to earn money.

The 53-year-old man has no children and leaves to mourn his two sisters and one brother. (Ramona Luthi)
