[www.inewsguyana.com] – National Boxing Coach, Sebert Blake is now a three star coach after successfully completing the APB/WSB Extraordinary Course held in Havana, Cuba.

At a press conference held today, Friday, October 31, at the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Steve Ninvalle said he was pleased with the success of Blake.

“There are few three star coaches in the Caribbean ‎and for Guyana to have two speaks volumes.

“It is indeed an injection for boxing in Guyana and Blake has already begun to share his knowledge with coaches,” Ninvalle stated.

Blake highlighted that he was happy to complete the course successfully and will use it to help produce future Olympians.

“I’m happy that I was able to compete the course and I’m now a APB/WSB certified coach which means that I can coach boxers for these tournaments that will help them qualify for the Olympics,” Blake stated.

Blake also thanked his employers at the Guyana Power and Light for their support while Ninvalle thanked the GOA, NSC and the Ministry of Support for the sponsorship.
