(Jamaica Observer) Former Holmwood Technical High School star cricketer Jermaine Blackwood will be in search of greater consistency as a batsman during the West Indies two-Test tour of Zimbabwe later this month.

Blackwood, who turns 26 next month, was dropped by the West Indies selectors for the Pakistan tour of the Caribbean earlier this year.

He regained his spot in the batting line-up for the three-Test tour of England in August/September, to place third in the WI batting averages as the hosts won the series 2-1. He scored 187 runs with a highest score of 79 and an average of 37.40. Always willing to attack, Blackwood had a strike rate of 80.95 in England.

Over the course of his 25-Test career, Blackwood has scored 1315 runs for a highest score of 112 and an average of 32.07.
