Blackman says Lumumba spoke untruth about allegations against iNews

Dear Editor,

I refer to your publication of a letter published in your online newspaper Inewsguyana.com, to the leader of APNU Mr David Granger.

My name is Basil Blackman and I have no recollection of ever having a conversation with Mr Lumumba indicating any connection with Inewsguyana and APNU. In fact, until I read your letter, I had never paid keen attention to the existence of the online publication inewsguyana.com.

I have known Mr Lumumba for many years and while I did greet him and exchange pleasantries on a recent airplane trip to Trinidad, we never engaged in a lengthy conversation and in fact, as I recall that he immediately feel asleep after he was served breakfast.

It is indeed unfortunate that you did not seek clarification from me before publishing this erroneous report.   Your letter is misleading and has caused harm to my reputation by associating me with such nonsense.

I therefore ask that you immediately issue a retraction of this letter as I refuse to fall victim to election season propaganda and gimmickry.

Thank You,

Basil Blackman
