A 28-year-old woman of Fort Ordnance Housing Scheme East Canje, Berbice is now hospitalised after she was stabbed several times about her body by an ex-partner.
The suspect visited her home on May 2 between 20:30hrs and 21:00hrs.
Police said the suspect grabbed the woman’s hair and pulled out a knife which he used to stab her to the head, face, neck, and right hand.
The perpetrator then made good his escape.
The victim was picked up by neighbours who rushed her to a hospital where she remains a patient.
An investigation is in progress.
