Berbice teen charged for stealing Blackberry Phone

DSC05134A woman was today placed on $40,000 bail when she appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty charged with simple larceny.

Nineteen – year – old Devi Mangal of Port Mourant, Berbice pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The court was told that between July 26 and August 10 she stole one Blackberry phone valued at $60,000 property of Malcolm Panday.

Mangal, who was expected to appear in court earlier this month, told the Magistrate that the reason for her delayed appearance is that she was given $2,000 by a police officer to return to Berbice.
