Berbice resident accused of burglary of Mining Company granted bail

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty – year – old Darren Schultz of Sandiford Village, West Canje Berbice, was today placed on $150,000 bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan after pleading not guilty to a break and enter and larceny charge.

It is alleged that between August 17 and 18 at Kwakwani, Upper Berbice River, he broke and entered the store of Safi Samarai El Dorado Mining Company and stole a grease pump, four pairs Truck cap shacks, six pairs of Caterpillar Head Lamps, nine fuel pump element, eight welding rods among other items together valued $8.9 M.

Representing Schultz was Attorney – at – Law, Konyo Sandiford Thompson, who in her bail application stated that surveillance footage reveal that her client was not part of the break and enter.

Meanwhile, Police Prosecutor, Dinero Jones did not opposed to bail but requested that it be substantial. The matter was transferred to Kwakwani Court for December 19.
