Beautician, Taxi Driver remanded on cocaine charges

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Beautician and a Taxi Driver, who were recently caught with cocaine, were remanded to prison on Monday, September 14, 2015 by Magistrate Ann McLennan.

Twenty – six – year old Chrishell Browne of Lot 32 Lamaha Park and 33 – year – old Andre Shawn Pilgrim of Lot 83 Lamaha Street, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The court heard that on Friday, September 11 at Timehri, East Bank Demerara, they had in their possession 12.31 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Browne was represented by Attorney-at-law, Mark Waldron, who told the court that his client is a mother of one. Meanwhile, Pilgrim was represented Attorney-at-law, Adrian Thompson, who informed the court that his client is married with a child and has no pending or prior matters before the court.

Both defendants were remanded to prison until October 09.
