[www.inewsguyana.com] – For eight years, Businessman Looknarine Basdeo who operates a Paint Store at Vreen – En – Hoop, West Coast Demerara has been losing stocks to bandits and this time of the year is no different.

He discovered his shop broken into this morning and estimates his losses to be in the region of $3M.

Speaking with iNews today at his business place, the frustrated Businessman said that each time his store is broken into; he has to take out a loan from the bank to restock his business.

He said that the trend is also affecting his employees because over the last few years, he has been laying off staff in January as a direct result of the December robberies.

Basdeo said he has been investing in the security of his business but that has proven to be bugbear as his security cameras continue to be damaged by the various operations of the Guyana Power and Light Company which is located behind his business place.

iNews was also shown several new security cameras which the man brought back from overseas and which he has to install but is not sure when the power company will come up with another upgrading of its service and damage his equipment.

The matter was reported to the police and already three persons have been held for questioning.
