A black Toyota Allion motorcar with registration plate PSS 3701 is now in the custody of Police of the “D” Division following a high speed chase with Police after which the vehicle was abandoned by its occupants, suspected to be bandits, who broke and entered another motorcar belonging to a Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) resident on Tuesday night.

According to reports received, the Tuschen resident, a contractor, was alerted by residents in his community to thieves who had broken into his vehicle and later escaped in a vehicle matching the one that was intercepted.

The stolen items that were recovered

Upon inspection, the man discovered that an amplifier, pioneer tape deck and a crossover were stolen from his vehicle.

A report was made and the getaway vehicle was spotted by ranks in the vicinity of the Parfaite Harmonie, Public Road.

Ranks gave chase and the vehicle ended up coming to a stop after it fell into a ditch. The suspects quickly made good their escape in an unknown direction.

The vehicle was searched and the stolen articles were retrieved from inside.

The vehicle was taken to the Leonora Police Station where it is lodged as investigators have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
