Bus driver and poultry farmer Dion Shawn Ramdyhan, 47, was shot and killed while sleeping during the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:30hrs at his residence in Bamia, along the Linden–Soesdyke Highway.
Ramdyhan lived with his longtime friend, Ernest Hall, whom he had known for about ten years. The two had been sharing the residence for the past five years and jointly reared chickens and pigs.
According to Hall, he was awakened around 2:30hrs by loud explosions followed by cries for help from Ramdyhan. Hall said he immediately raised an alarm, and the police were subsequently notified.
When officers arrived at the scene, Ramdyhan was found lying on his bed in a pool of blood.
An examination of the body revealed eight gunshot wounds: one to the abdomen, one to the left arm, one to the upper back, three to the buttocks, and two to the left thigh.
Police investigations are ongoing.
