Fifty-one-year-old Albert Barakat and 36-year-old Quincy Parris, of Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), were last week granted $120,000 bail each when they appeared before Magistrate Dylon Bess charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
It is alleged that the defendant on January 10 assaulted Garfield Munroe, so as to cause him actual bodily harm. The Court also heard that Munroe was presently hospitalised. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident were not revealed in Court.
During the hearing, Police Prosecutor Rambhague objected to bail on the grounds the victim was hospitalised at the Suddie Public Hospital. He noted that the two men also had other court matters pending.
Barakat, a father of one, in his quest for bail, told the Court that he lived at Lot 1 Anna Regina and was a mechanic. Meanwhile, Paris told the Court that he was a labourer and a father of four children.
The case will continue on January 26.
