[www.inewsguyana.com] – Addressing the Alliance For Change (AFC) National Conference this morning, Party Leader Khemraj Ramjattan called on all citizens, particularly AFC supporters, to ensure they play an active role in unmasking corruption which he said has taken root in the current administration.

Ramjattan said the corruption which is being fostered by the government has cost and denied Guyana and its citizenry much and called for the removal of the administration; a call that was echoed with loud applause from those gathered.

“What must we do? You know what you must do! You must fire them!” Ramjattan said as he urged citizens to continue to keep a close eye on the activities of the incumbent, especially during the period of governance with a nonfunctional parliament.

“We must not only fire them, we must fry them,” the AFC Leader added as he told his members that even if the AFC becomes corrupt it should not be spared condemnation.

Similar sentiments were also expressed by the AFC’s Vice Chairman, Moses Nagamootoo, who gave the media thumbs up for unmasking corruption in the public sector.

“It is the AFC that has led the exposure of the PPP corruption… the AFC unmasked illegal spending of public funds, the existence of secret accounts, misuse of monies, corrupt contracts, blatant abuse of our national resources, state terrorism and violence, the nexus between the state and the underworld, all of which characterizes PPP’s misrule,” he added.

He condemned the President’s decision to prorogue Parliament, calling it undemocratic even as he encouraged cheers for the work the seven AFC Parliamentarians have been doing in the House; calling them the magnificent seven.

“Guyana Emperor now stands naked before the world.”

The AFC Vice Chairman believes his Party has in its ranks the best fighters whose revolutionary zeal and passion knows no limits.

Speaking in similar connotations, Ramjattan submitted that the AFC has graduated to being a major political force that has taken root in the political landscape of Guyana. In condemning the PPP rule, he said many Guyanese are left with a heavy heart because of the decline that is taking place all around them.

“Sluggish growth, increasing inequality, massive corruption, anti-social conduct at the highest level, marginalization and malfunctioning institutions,” he listed; noting that the PPP’s generation of politics is marked by degeneration.

“This has happened because we allow too much negligence and complacency to dominate,” the AFC Leader added; reasoning that the PPP continues to parade itself as a Party for the working class when it is doing so at the expense of kickbacks, perks and privileges for themselves.

While Nagamootoo praised sections of the media for exposing corruption, Ramjattan chided others for misinformation and the spread of PPP propaganda and lies.

To this end, he called on supporters to work harder to make the AFC a more superior organization.

“We can’t have self-doubt, we cannot tell ourselves it can’t be done… it can be done and we will fire the PPP government from office… bring it on, we Ready!”

He cautioned his supporters not to be fooled by the propaganda being spewed by the ruling Party.

  1. The AFC should take the GREENHEART LOGS from their own eyes before they try to take the sawdust out of the PPP/C eyes. Their list of corrupt practices are many and diverse. They do not offer a viable alternative to the PPP/C.

  2. Ramjattan, r u a madman? If it’s good to take credit for unearthing corruption in the government, why not give credit for unearthing corruption in the afc,
Is corruption good for the afc but bur bad for others,
    R U really a lawyer?
Such a warp mind to be president?
    Where were u trained?
