It was brought to our attention that a post has been circulating since yesterday and this morning regarding some concerns raised by villagers about the Belle Vue Pump Station Project. We would like to set the record straight on this matter with full transparency.

1. Gaico never abandoned the site; work was ongoing. A full crew was active on-site.

2. On Sunday, the 30th November,2025, there was very heavy rainfall in that area during the high tide.

3. The drain behind Belle Vue overtopped and flooded the construction area, an unforeseen event due to the extreme weather conditions.

4. As soon as it was brought to management’s attention, we mobilized additional pumps to commence operation to have the water removed.

5. A very simple check would have revealed that our dedicated crew remained on-site, implementing additional water pumps to aggressively mitigate the flooding.

This morning, Gaico was not reacting to anyone’s actions, but was executing our pre-planned, systematic dewatering operation to take control of the overflow from the Belle Vue Canal. As usual, we were proactive and immediately implemented our mitigation plan to bring the situation back under control. Our primary focus is the safety of our team and the continued progress of this vital project.

The villagers can rest assured that Gaico will take all necessary action, as we have done for the last few months to ensure that the community experiences minimal disruption.

We are committed to absolute transparency and invite the community council or any concerned residents to visit the site today or tomorrow during operational hours to witness the progress and mitigation efforts firsthand.
