8 more Covid-19 deaths recorded


The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that as of September 01, 2021, eight more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 632.

The patients were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms but died while receiving care at medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests.

The details on the latest fatalities are below:

Male 57 Cuyuni – Mazaruni September 01
Male 85 Demerara-Mahaica September 01
Female 49 Essequibo Islands-West Demerara September 01
Female 53 Demerara-Mahaica August 31
Female 58 Demerara-Mahaica September 01
Male 85 Pomeroon-Supenaam September 01
Female 91 Cuyuni – Mazaruni September 01


Meanwhile, the country has also recorded 181 new cases, taking the total positives recorded to date to 25,951.

There are 33 in the ICU, 116 in institutional isolation, 1,832 in home isolation, and six in institutional quarantine.

Recoveries stand at 23,338.
