A 66-year-old man was Tuesday arrested with 290 grams of cocaine at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
The drug was unearthed in a pair of shoes he was wearing, the Guyana Police Force said.
The suspect, who was US-bound, is said to be cooperating with police investigators.
