A 59-year-old man was killed on Friday night after being struck down by a motor car on the Amelia’s Ward public road, Linden.
Dead is Michael Simon of Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
Based on information received, the accident occurred around 18:45hrs on Friday. It is alleged that motor vehicle, PVV 9182 driven by a resident of Toucan Drive, Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was proceeding east along the public road when Simon attempted to cross the road.
Inews understands that though the driver of the motor car attempted to swerve the vehicle, Simon was struck down and flung several feet away. He was subsequently picked up and rushed to the Linden Hospital, where he succumbed.
The driver of the motor car is presently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
