4th Scotia Bank/Pepsi Football Academy set for February 10

[www.inewsguyana.com]The Guyana Sports Development Foundation will host their Fourth Football Camp from February 10 with their official league starting on March 8.

The event, which has secured for another year, its title sponsors Scotia Bank and Pespi was yesterday launched yesterday at the Pegasus Hotel.

Among one of the keynote Speaker was

President of the GSDF, John Yates, who stated that this year they will not be adding more schools as they are focused on building on what they have.

“Our focus in 2014 is to strengthen our current programme before expanding to the other areas in 2015” the President was quoted as saying.

Scotia Bank’s representatives Jennifer Cipriani expressed pleasure with the development that the program has made.

Another integral sponsor in the program, Pepsi, through their company (Demerara Distillers Limited)’s representative, Sharda Veeren-Chand indicated the joy that the program brings to the heart of the children and they are glad to be involved in such a feeling.

Culture, Youth and Sport Minister Dr Frank Anthony expressed profound pleasure at the evident work the program has been doing through its last three years and urged them to carry on the good works.

Among the other persons to give speeches were Guyana Football Federation President Christopher Matthias who noted that the program has been beneficial to youths across the country

The event is a collaboration of the co sponsors Pepsi and Scotia Bank along with the Ministries of Education and Sport and the Guyana Football Federation.
