42-Y-O remanded for allegedly assaulting wife

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Forty – two – year old Michael Paul, accused of assault causing actual bodily harm to his wife, was placed before City Magistrate Annette Singh to answer to the offense on November 13.

It is alleged that on October 9, 2015 at Oronoque Street, Georgetown, Paul unlawfully and maliciously assaulted Raquel Paul, his reputed wife, so as to cause her actual grievous bodily harm.

He pleaded not guilty to the offense and blurted out that he never assaulted his wife and described it as a simple exchange of words.

However his wife, who was present in court, disagreed with his answer and revealed that she has since acquired a restraining order against him.

He was remanded to prison and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on November 24.
