The Police Service Commission (PSC) has recently promoted four members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) to senior positions.

It is expected that their dedication over the years will be the same as they execute their duties in their new portfolios.

Commander of F Division (Interior locations), Senior Superintendent Kevin Adonis, along with recently reinstated Superintendent of Police, Simon McBean, have both been elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

According to the new ACP, Commander Adonis, he spent over 35 years dedicating his time and energies towards serving the GPF, and is thankful for being recognised for this.

“I am elated. First, I must thank God for bringing me this far in the GPF and to have achieved this rank and at the same time I am encouraging others to be dedicated, because dedication pays off,” Adonis told INews.

Meanwhile, Head of Immigration, Superintendent Ewart Wray has been promoted to Senior Superintendent and former Best Cop, Cadet Officer Jermaine Dufu, has had his rank elevated to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

“It’s indeed an honour! I believe that this appointment is a recognition of my performance by the Force’s administration…the Immigration Department in recent times has been receiving positive feedbacks from the public; local and in the diaspora, regarding the efficient service we provide, passport service in particular…that could not have occurred though, without a committed and dedicated team of Immigration officers whom I lead, therefore, I must say thanks to them,” Wray said.
