3 years jail for Pork Knocker caught with marijuana

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 45 – year – old Pork Knocker of Lot 06 Jackson Street, Tucville, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by Magistrate Ann McLennan on a drug trafficking charge.

Orin Semple, without hesitation, pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that on Monday, July 27 at Jackson Street, Tucville, Georgetown, he had in his possession 390 grammes of marijuana.

Police Sergeant, Neville Jeffers told the court that on the day in question, ranks acting on information went to the home of Semple where a search was conducted in his room and the illegal substance was found in his closet.

The police prosecutor admitted that Semple was not at home at the time of the search, but his nephew was arrested; however the defendant later turned himself into the police where he accepted ownership of the prohibited drug.

The unrepresented man begged the court for leniency. In addition to his sentence, he was also fined fined $585,000.

  1. this “judgment” is a damn disgrace – we are still living in a repressive neo -colonial state. All agencies responsible for this ridiculous sentence should be jailed and sent to a re-education camp in a new Guyana.

  2. This is bear f…kery, how much more injustice must go on in guyana for little weed and all the ministers theives getting bail, this is wrong and i am seeing where this heading ,ppl gone get real ravenous in gt if this continue like that.
