26 police ranks trained for elections


Twenty-six Guyana Police Force ranks from Region Four received election preparedness training over the weekend.

Topics such as Use of Force, Use of Force Continuum and Election Offences following the Public Order Act Chapter 16:03 were discussed at the training.

According to the GPF, the training session was hosted at Brickdam Police Station and was conducted by Superintendent Karl Wilson, Officer-In-Charge of Number Two Sub-Division which are Princes Street, Georgetown-Agricola, Greater Georgetown. In a statement, the GPF said that the training was done to help officers deal with situations during the election period should any arise.

General and Regional Elections are slated for Monday, March 2.
