2 street dwellers found dead, 1 arrested

Two persons who have been residing on the streets were yesterday found dead, in what is suspected to be murder.

A 46-year-old man called “SpongeBob” was found dead on Monday morning at around 06:30hrs at the corner of Regent and Light Streets, Georgetown.

There was a gaping wound to his neck.

He has since been identified as Andrew Bobb from Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

He had been living on the streets around the Bourda Market area for a number of years.

Then at around 22:00hrs, the body of a 40-year-old man was found at the pavement on Regent Street in the vicinity of the Household Plus building.

There were several stab wounds about his body including face, chest, hand and foot.

This man was only known as Samaroo.

Cops reviewed CCTV to assist in the investigation.

Sometime later, police arrested a 23-year-old suspect who resides at Bourda, Georgetown.

Investigations are ongoing.
