Two young men are now injured after their speeding car crashed into a tree at Cullen Public Road, Essequibo Coast.
Injured are 23-year-old Ameer Samad of Zorg, Essequibo Coast, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, and occupant 18-year-old Roria Persaud, a labourer also of Zorg.
The accident occurred sometime around 23:52h on Saturday.
It was reported that motorcar PRR5427 was proceeding south on the eastern driving lane at a fast rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree.
Both the driver and occupant were picked up in an unconscious condition by public-spirited persons and transported to the Suddie Public HoHospital.
Police say further enquiries in progress.
