18-Y-O remanded on four counts of Break & Enter

[www.inewsguyana.com] – An unemployed young man of Lot 6 Constabulary Compound, Linden was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on four counts of breaking and entering.

Martin Fraser, 18, pleaded not guilty to the charges, one of which alleged that between January 28 and 30, at South Amelia’s Ward, Linden he broke and entered the house of Dian Phillips and stole a refrigerator amongst other items, together valued $195,000.

The second charge stated that between January 29 and 30, at Central Amelia’s Ward Linden, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Nikesha Fiedtkou and carted off with a quantity of electronics, together valued $329,000.

Another charge detailed that between October 28 and 30, 2014 at Linden, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Lennard Jennings and stole one Sharp television set, one DSM Modem, one Cooler box, one gold chain, two gold earrings and one gold and diamond earrings, at a total value of over $4 M.

It is also alleged that between January 25 and February 1 at Phase Three, Ameila’s Ward, he also broke and entered the house of Royston Leon and stole one music set and a television among other items valued $479,000.

The teenager was represented by Attorney-at-law, Gordon Gilhuys, who made a failed bail application. The matter was transferred to Linden Magistrate’s Court for March 31.

He is just 18year and committed so many crimes, linden town does not have jobs for any one, the government should start to create jobs for people living in that town, but they don’t care, that why when the youths finish school they have no where to go and nothing to do, that why theydo crime, it’s very expensive to travel from linden to Georgetown to work.
