[www.inewsguyana.com] – Seventeen year-old Michael Cliff, accused of possession of firearm and ammunition, was remanded to prison on October 21 by Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan.

It is alleged that on October 18, the accused Cliff of Lot 140 B. Field Sophia, Georgetown had in his possession one .37 Magnum Revolver and five live rounds of .38 ammunition, without being the holder of firearm license.

Cliff, who is a Mason, pleaded not guilty to both offenses. According to his lawyer, on the day in question, Cliff was working in Kitty, Georgetown when the police, who found the alleged gun and ammunition nearby, went up to him and asked him if the items were his.

The Attorney alleged that the police placed the gun in the pants of his client and then arrested him. Bail was refused and he was remanded to prison until November 10.
