149 new cases recorded as Covid death toll rises to 419


The country’s Covid-19 death toll has increased to 419 after two more persons who were infected with the virus died.

The latest fatalities are two males from Region 4 (Demerara-Mahaica): a 58-year-old and 42-year-old. They both died while receiving care at a medical facility.

Meanwhile, the country also recorded 149 new cases of the novel coronavirus, taking the total positives recorded to date to 18,088.

There are 20 persons in the ICU, 101 in institutional isolation, 1506 in home isolation, and one in institutional quarantine.

A total of 16,042 persons have recovered.
