[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – year – old Mark Josiah of Dennis Street, Campbellville, Georgetown was fined $10,000 by Magistrate Ann McLennan for assaulting his reputed wife
Josiah, who is an Electrician, pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that on November 26, he unlawfully assaulted Tiffany Josiah.
Police Prosecutor, Dinero Jones told the Court that on the day in question, the couple left their home in Campbellville to purchase Chinese food on Sherriff Street.
On their way home, Tiffany indicated to her reputed husband that she does not like the way he treats her. The man then became annoyed and threw away the food.
The Court heard that upon their arrival at home, Josiah cuffed the woman about the body. The matter was then reported to the Police.
He was bonded to keep the peace for 12 months and a default in paying the fine will result in four weeks imprisonment.
