The demise of a 79-year-old woman who was infected with the novel coronavirus has taken the country’s death toll to 1,263.
The latest victim, who hailed from Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) was unvaccinated.
The country has also registered 184 new cases of the virus, taking the total positives recorded to date to 68,409.
There are 34 persons hospitalised, five of whom are in the ICU while 779 are isolating at home. Five persons are in institutional quarantine while the recoveries stand at 66,328.
