Guyana’s expanding agro-processing and creative sectors are on full display at AgroFest 2026, as the Guyana Office for Investment leads a strong presence aimed at deepening regional trade ties and promoting Guyanese products to the Barbadian market.
Hosted in Barbados, AgroFest 2026 provides an important platform for Guyanese agro-processors, manufacturers, and artisans to engage directly with consumers, distributors, and business stakeholders.

Visitors to the Guyana booth yesterday had the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of value-added food products, beverages, and handcrafted items, highlighting Guyana’s growing capacity in agro-processing and product innovation.
The participation formed part of Guyana’s broader strategy to expand non-traditional exports and strengthen commercial linkages within the Caribbean Community. Emphasis was placed on building brand awareness for Guyanese products, understanding market preferences, and fostering conversations that could lead to longer-term trade relationships.

In anticipation of the festival, over 50 Guyanese business proprietors benefited from a targeted Business-to-Business (B2B) engagement session facilitated by the Guyana Office for Investment at the Accra Beach Hotel. The session connected Guyanese producers with Barbadian distributors and business representatives, creating opportunities for dialogue around market access, distribution channels, and potential partnerships.

The B2B initiative formed part of a wider program of activities designed to support Guyanese enterprises entering or expanding within the Barbadian market, particularly in agro-processing and manufacturing.
These engagements also allowed participants to gain insights into regulatory requirements, consumer trends, and logistical considerations relevant to doing business in Barbados.
