Women Miners benefit from training

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Members of the Guyana Women Miners Organization (GWMO), on Friday (July 18), benefited from an introductory level training of prospectors for the Extractive Industry.

unnamed (5)This follows a commitment by the Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment Robert  Persaud.

The training was facilitated by the Guyana Mining School and Training Centre Inc and focused on GPS Navigation, Compass Navigation, Map Scale Interpretation, Mineralization Map Interpretation, Topographic Map Interpretation etc. as part of a coordinated effort to improve the skills base of new entrants to the sector and miners.

The training was held at the Guyana Forestry Commission Multi-Complex Building.
