A young woman is being accused of setting on fire, the one-bedroom home she and her family shared, over her partner’s alleged infidelity.

The property, located  at B Field Reserve Dam in South Sophia, Georgetown, was completely destroyed just around 2:00hrs today (Wednesday).

According to reports, the female occupant set the house alight in a rage of frustration over the man’s alleged infidelity.

Neighbours related to INews that the couple, said to be in their early 20s, could be heard having heated arguments from time to time. They have one child together.

When Guyana Fire Service officials arrived at the scene, the wooden building was completely gutted.

Investigations are continuing into the incident.
